I enjoyed the first book but this book was a total turn off. SPOILER ALTER: The heroine is tortured and the hero stands by to watch without making a move to help? I just can't get past that, especially at the end when he does not even apologize or address his actions, or lack thereof. I felt anger at the end of this book because it still felt unresolved. Also, I could not get past the heroine's personality. There's submissive and there's just a lumpy door mat. She was not a strong character and I had no respect for her. The story had holes and I had to assume and fill in most of the blanks myself. I really did not enjoy this one at all.Product details

This is the second book in this series and takes place at the same time as the first book. ( it starts off during the middle of book one). Thea is the sister to H of book one and I liked her she was strong and didn't let anyone control her except maybe in the bedroom. Sam is the H and at first he was a little off putting but I grew to like him. Thea was determined never to mate after she saw what happened to her parents because of it but life has a way of making you do things that you never thought you would. Sam wanted revenge against her father and what better way than through his daughter, but what he didn't know is that he is her mate. He wants to hurt her but he can't and that is confusing him. This is a short story, but you do get your HEA.

Taken by Space Pirates is the story of Thea and Sam. I really liked Thea in Alpha Alien, and was really excited to read about her and her lifemate. I have to say, even though some parts were predictable, a huge chunk of the end was a surprise to me. There were things I knew were coming, others took me completely by surprise...and I loved that. I enjoyed most of Alpha Alien, and I am happy that Taken by Space Pirates is another good book in the series. The end, although a bit sappy for me, was a huge improvement over the one in Alpha Alien. This book didn't quite have the rushed feeling that installment had and felt more like the first two parts of that one. Thea's tough demeanor, one of my favorite qualities of hers, is mostly absent in this book, but you get to see a different side of her. You learn about her history and better understand her family. It's a really good book, and well worth reading!

In this corner, we have Thea and the challenger is Sam. LOL Okay, maybe their first meeting wasn't that bad. No wait, it kind of was. Thea came out swinging. Unfortunately, she's overpowered by the man she instantly knew was her mate. The catch? He's human. Thea is determined to fight the mating bond. For one, she's seen what it can lead to. What happened to her Mom was a tragic example of how mating can go wrong. There's also the fact that her mate kidnapped her and has plans to take his hatred of her father, out on her. Thea is, of course, brokenhearted at her treatment by Sam, her mate. She's suffering and isn't sure how much more she can take.
Then Sam shows her some kindness and some short, yet fulfilling for her, sexy time. Maybe there is hope for them. Maybe all isn't lost. That hope is quickly snuffed out when Ardal, Sam's First Mate, interrupts the moment and things happen leading to a punishment for Thea. Which Ardal eagerly delivers *cough cough evil witch* and Sam does nothing to stop it. End result? Back to pain and despair for Thea. How devastating would that be to have your mate allow your painful punishment to happen and to watch it all unfold?
Things aren't always as they seem. Truths are exposed. Plans are revealed. Hurt and betrayal are felt. How will things end for Sam and Thea? Will Sam find the answers he's been searching for all these years? Will Thea be able to get past what she went through, seemingly all at her mate's hand? Read the book and find out.

After reading the "Alpha Alien" serial, I was left wondering just what was happening to Thea in all this time... Well I don't need to wonder any more, this is Thea's story, her very eye opening journey. From the very start of this action packed read I was riveted, I NEEDED to know just what happened next, which kept me reading until the end of the book. So much information was inside this book, but also there where some painful scenes. This was longer than I expected, but I still devoured it in no time.
You don't have to read book 1 'Alpha Alien' in the "Bound to the Alien" series to fully understand what's happening in this book, but it wouldn't hurt to read them first. I can't wait to read what comes next in this "Bound to the Alien" series from Flora Dare.

Worth the time and the money.
Good story. Felt a little rushed at the end. I think it needed to be longer to end smoother, but still good. I liked Sam and Thea, I'm interested to read more about this world.
This story is okay for the younger crowd. However, the female "alien" has breasts with nipples that become aroused by touch. Not only that, she has a Clint and labia and gets wet when aroused just like a human female. Come on! All you did to make her an alien was to write in a few small scales on her skin. So two stars for more boring aliens.
